Chronology of cameras Hemax
This folding camera has absolutely no indication of brand. Its lens is signed A. Darlot and shutter has no brand.
However, its identification is easy for those who regularly read this website. They will recognize in the shape of the struts the schematic of the patent No. 606,903 issued March 20, 1926, regarding a locking system without articulation of the bed in the use position , by Mr Mallinjod. The brand is therefore Hemax. One could say that this is a user of the patent.
To be more certain, it is necessary to compare this specimen with this unit that has an Hemax plate affixed. The attachment points of the handle are identical.
The finish of this camera is basic. The body is made of wood and sheathed with a poor covering not even imitating leather. In contrast to the model covered with tan leather and fitted with a better shutter, this camera was probably an economic model.
